Clearly, the Lions value Brock Wright as the team's # 2 TE.

The only way I can envision the Lions drafting a TE this year is if the TE is noticeable higher on the Lions draft board, compared to players at positions of greater need for the Lions.

I still haven't seen how Brock Wright's offer sheet was structured.

Considering the Lions used a RFA Tender Offer option with Brock Wright last month, it was in essence a no-brainer for the Lions to match this offer sheet. I have no idea why the 49ers made it easy for the Lions to match their offer sheet to Wright. The Lions saved over $ 1.2 million in salary cap space for 2024, as a result of the 49ers signing Wright to their offer sheet! Usually, teams that sign players to offer sheets try to make it more difficult for the offer sheet to be matched.
